Maintenance

Asphalt courts that have reached the 5-7 year mark will often require resurfacing to address surface defects and restore optimal playability and appearance. The resurfacing process consists of pressure washing, leveling to address low spots, also known as bird baths, repair or cracks and any delamination, coating damage, and finally, the application of a new acrylic coating system. Typically, crack repair is the predominant component of the repair process. Mid Atlantic utilizes the Armor Crack Repair System for this purpose. Mid Atlantic has successfully repaired hundreds of thousands of feet of cracks in this manner. Take a more in-depth look at the resurfacing process.

Annual Service Contracts
Annual Service Contracts
Mid Atlantic offers annual service contracts to all our customers. For a minimal cost, you can choose to have our crew service your court. We recommend annual maintenance to protect your initial resurfacing investment. Service typically includes pressure washing, crack repair and correction of any surface problems. Additional service options include color coating, which is additional color coat that keep the court looking new while maintaining surface texture, service to existing court equipment and fence repairs.
Pressure Washing
For most hard courts, pressure washing is an annual service that keeps the court clean and looking great. The coating system on the playing surface needs to stay clean or accumulated dirt will break down the components of the system. Not to mention the fact that dirty courts are slippery and unsightly.  Often, hard courts require only minimal cleaning if performed annually.

Crack Repair
Crack Repair
Over time, even well constructed courts will begin to crack due to seasonal freezing and thawing. In these cases, annual crack repair will prevent further structural damage and keep the courts safe for playing. The cracks are repaired with with SportMaster’s CrackMagic and painted with acrylic paint to match the court color. A crack repaired in this manner will need to be addressed each year but the cost is minimal. Often, a crack repair procedure can keep a court functioning until budget dollars are available for a renovation.
Color Coating
To maintain surface texture and overall color intensity, color coating every two to three years can keep any court looking and playing great.
